The ORBITEC™ (Orbital Technologies Corporation) mission is to serve government and industry by developing and demonstrating innovative technologies and advanced products that enhance the quality of human life and support mankind’s exploration of the Universe. Headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, ORBITEC is a national leader in aerospace research and development. In its first 25 years, ORBITEC has been awarded over $160 million in contracts from government and industry for aerospace subsystem development and integration, including the largest Phase III Small Business Innovation Research Program in NASA’s history.
ORBITEC has a proven track record providing flight hardware, flight verification and certification, crew training, safety data package documentation, and flight operational support. ORBITEC staff comprises personnel who have been involved with spaceflight hardware, including science flight payloads, for over two decades. Most of the experience has been with Space Shuttle and ISS; however, more recently ORBITEC has provided flight hardware and its corresponding documentation necessary for flight certification for the European Space Agency (ESA), via Aero Sekur, for flight on the Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) and operation on the ISS.
ORBITEC is a flexible, commercial solution for Principal Investigators (PIs) wishing to conduct science on the ISS. The flexibility comes from ORBITEC’s proven ability to participate in the flight hardware process at any point, from requirement development to verification and integration of the flight hardware, and including operational support of the flight hardware. ORBITEC Staff comprises personnel who have been involved with spaceflight hardware, including science flight payloads, for over two decades.
